My Own Business, Inc. (MOBI) has the mission of helping people succeed at starting their own business. We do this by providing free educational coursework to foster successful entrepreneurs via the Internet. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity and we warmly welcome volunteers. As a volunteer you can obtain insights and know-how about starting your own business as well as gain an excellent opportunity to add quality experience to your resume and portfolio. Volunteer Work Description
Your main goal would be to make the My Own Business website available to more and more people, via the internet.

Specific Duties
Helping us forge affiliations with other non-profit and commercial websites. You would also be assisting us with internet research projects.

Time Commitment / Requirements
You must read through the entire course before you start. You could volunteer from 8 hours to 40 hours a week. A minimum schedule commitment of 3 months would be required.

Experience and Rewards
Excellent experience working with Phil Holland, an entrepreneurial legend in his own right, and founder of the MOBI organization. This experience can provide excellent resume material as well as a certificate certifying your involvement with our organization.

Volunteer Work Description
Mobi runs Message Boards / Forums for our visitors. These forums need to be moderated and tended to on a daily basis.

Specific Duties
Moderate the forums weeding out spam as well as any abusive posts. Assist people using the forums by directing them to sections on the website that may answer their questions.

Time Commitment / Requirements
You must read through the entire course before you start. You could volunteer from 8 hours to 40 hours a week. A minimum schedule commitment of 3 months would be required.

Excellent resume material as well as a certificate certifying your charitable time with our organization.

Volunteer Work Description
Gain valuable insight into how to start your own business while at the same time helping others.

Specific Duties
You would be assigned to assist us with various projects at the office (in the Los Angeles area) including but not limited to the website, research, and our day to day business.

Time Commitment / Requirements
You must read through the entire course before you start. Come into our office from 1 day to 5 days a week. This can be done as a summer school project. A minimum schedule commitment of 3 months would be required.

Contribute written material that relates to our course that we can integrate into the course. Since all content on this site is the exclusive property of My Own Business, Inc. and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws, you will be required to assign worldwide rights to your intellectual property to My Own Business, Inc.
(Material contributed with commercial gain in mind is not what we are looking for!)

Project-based depending on the length of submitted material.
