My Own Business, Inc. (MOBI) offers a complete guide on how to organize, promote and conduct our course in a classroom setting. The course addresses the basic disciplines that both start-up and operating entrepreneurs need to know. It has been successfully taught in classrooms, seminars and workshops since 1992. We will provide you with a complete Classroom Guide and CD that include important teaching aids and a PowerPoint Presentation covering all sessions.
To organize a MOBI class you will need to fill two responsibilities: a Facilitator to organize the class and one or more Instructors to teach the class. In some cases the Facilitator is also the Instructor. An Instructor teaching 4 or more sessions is a Principal Instructor. Facilitators are asked to complete a one page application to outline their backgrounds and describe the classroom facilities to be used.
To insure a high and uniform quality of delivery, it is important that Instructors demonstrate a reasonable level of understanding in all the course topics. This is accomplished by requiring Principal Instructors to be graduates of our graded Certificate Course. Instructors teaching 1 - 3 sessions are required to complete the free online course topics they teach. Before our royalty-free license is granted, either the Instructor or a Principal Instructor must have been issued a Certificate of Completion and submitted an acceptable Facilitator Application form.

While the license is royalty-free, and we do not impose any tuition requirements (you decide the tuition), we do require that each student is furnished with a copy of the MOBI textbook. The textbooks will provide students with a valuable hands-on reference guide for future use. Your students will keep it close by and refer to it often. (Click Here to see Course Presentation Agreement.)
For large established institutions with ongoing programs, the textbook can be co-branded.
How to conduct the course
The course is ideally conducted in 16 meetings of 2 to 3 hours each. One session topic will be covered at each meeting. During the first segment, a facilitator (Instructor) covers the core materials for the session. The second segment is devoted to a guest speaker who will share personal experiences in starting, operating, and growing their own business.
Depending on the number of hours available, the facilitator will need to adjust time in order to cover the course content, guest speakers, and activities. This course is flexible and has been conducted in eight-day workshops, and community colleges have used an entire semester to cover the material.
The Classroom Guide provides information devoted to classroom organization, flexible teaching formats, and scheduling.
