Issues in buying a business

Business owners that are existing and looking to expand through acquisition will look for businesses that feel are in some way an expansion opportunity. Whether it's geographically, whether it's a product line, it may well be part of a vertical distribution approach to the industry that they are in. but what is critical from the buyers point of view is to always thoroughly do the due diligence and in doing so reach beyond the financials and reach beyond the history of the litigations and focus on the culture of the business that you are buying and how that culture is going to integrate with your existing business. If it's not going to do you any good to buy a business that compliments your and have such a cultural change that you have a turnover of 100% of those employees in the first year.
