1. Is there free, valuable information on this website? What's the catch?

One of our key goals as a non-profit organization is to help you decide if you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur before you make a financial or emotional commitment. To assist you, this Web site contains valuable free information to all viewers including online access to all our 16 sessions, the top ten characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, top 10 do's and don'ts, the entrepreneur's quiz, course outlines of all 16 sessions, important video clips and other important information. While our basic course is free, to help support our mission, a small fee is charged for the Certificate Course and our textbook which covers all course materials.

For serious entrepreneurs planning to risk savings in starting or expanding a business, we recommend taking the graded online Certificate Course which includes graded examinations for all sessions and a final examination. A Certificate of Completion is furnished upon successful completion.

2. Who pays for the ongoing costs to support this training?

While parts of our online materials are offered free and only nominal fees are charged for our other resources, that doesn't mean additional costs are not incurred. These costs are covered by

  • Tax deductable donations from organizations and individuals.
  • Sale of the My Own Business textbook, a basic reference guide covering the essential business disciplines of starting and operating a successful business.

3. Why don't the video clips and sound bytes work?

The video clips sound bytes are best received with a high speed (DSL, etc.) connection. However, the sound bytes have been transcribed for reading.

4. Why am I unable to login to the Certificate Course?

Usernames and passwords are case sensitive. If you included capital letters in your username or your password you will need to type them in exactly the same. If you signed up for the Certificate Course and were unable to complete payment, your account will be suspended until payment is received. For more information please call or contact us.

5. What is the biggest mistake people make in viewing this course?

Many viewers do not take the course in its entirety. There are pitfalls explained in all 16 sessions that a serious entrepreneur needs to know in order to be fully prepared for decision making success.

6. How long does it take to complete the course, do I really need to take the quizzes?

Any serious entrepreneur who plans to risk savings and personal assets in a business should take all 16 sessions including all the quizzes and listen to the Sound Bytes. A business plan section should be completed as each session is completed, culminating in a completed business plan at the end of the course. Each session should take two to four hours to complete--or whatever length of time is required in order to obtain a reasonable level of understanding in of each topic.
