The Apprentice - Episode 7

Episode 7             |The Apprentice| (Back to main page)

The Protégé team was struggling with 2 people down. They were told to chose 1 person from the other team from which they chose Amy. The teams were then sent on their next task to renovate and rent out two apartments. The total time they were given was 72 hours to complete this task. Trump mentioned how important "details" were as he himself was renovating a luxury building so that he could rent them out for a profit. Trump mentioned how he was up every morning checking on things making sure himself that the project would succeed. He went on to say how amazed he was when he would see car salesmen selling dirty cars. If only they were washed they could get an extra 200 dollars. Details...

Katrina was chosen as the project manager for Versacorp due to her background was in real estate. Each team leader was given a view of two separate apartments to chose from. The project leaders then needed to decide which apartment they wanted. Troy, the team leader for Protégé, knowing Katrina's background decided to go for what she wanted. He also happened to overhear her cell phone conversation. A funny moment came when Katrina decided that they should write down which one they wanted on a piece of paper and hand exchange that paper at the same time. Troy wrote down "I want what you want" which really upset Katrina. It came down to a coin toss and Troy won which meant Katrina's team Versacorp had to renovate the other apt.

Both teams worked hard to renovate the apartments. The two weakest links on each respective team seemed to be Omorosa, once again who did just about zero work because of an imaginary "headache" and Tammy who seemed to always be caught up in things that were pointless. Omorosa went on to play basketball outside while her team worked inside. The real shocker came when Heidi spoke with her father and got the bad news that her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Heidi decided to stay and work with the team. Her mother pushed Heidi to complete her chance at The Apprentice. Katrina had the excellent idea to hire a general contractor to come in and fix up the place although Tammy almost ruined things as she fussed with everyone on the contractors team.

Both teams struggled to get people in to view the apartments. Seeing that they had to not only sell the place but also to clear the persons credit. In the end both teams were able to close the deal just in time, question was for how much profit? Versacorp did a phenomenal job on renovation but only pulled off a 10% increase. Protégé did not hire a general contractor yet they managed a 27% increase.

Katrina was verbally upset and would not admit she had ever been duped which Mr. Trump later said was a "load of crap" Meanwhile Tammy turned on her team and said that Katrina had in fact been "duped." Tammy did not really know the full extent of the story and made a fatal mistake of opening her mouth before she knew all the facts. Trump let everyone know, "Business in New York is a tough deal." Katrina, Nick and Tammy ended up in the board room with Mr. Trump. Katrina should have been in charge of both the renovating and the negotiating however it was Tammy's obnoxious and disloyal behavior that made Trump say "your fired." He also let them know that the elevators go "Up to the suite, down to the street, good luck!"

The winning team went to Donald Trump's home in Bedford for a picnic at his 55,000 sq foot getaway.
