The Apprentice - Episode 4

Episode 4             |The Apprentice| (Back to main page)

The men just could not pull it together and fell in defeat once again. The task at hand was to run a Planet Hollywood location for the better half of a day and see which team could bring in the most profits as compared to last year on the same day. Both teams ran similar tactics however the difference came as the women were much more aggressive. The women did better in two key areas, merchandising and liquor sales which have excellent profit margins. The women once again charmed their male customers and went as far as to join in on taking shots with the guys until the manager told them it was a big "no no" due to liability reasons. As the night wore on you could tell the women were making a solid impact. The men as before seemed to be off to a great start. Bill had an excellent tactic of providing monetary incentives to the staff for who sold the most hourly. He had the staff behind him although his front runners outside were just not pulling in the customers. A funny moment came in as "Kwame Jackson" became a superstar signing autographs for kids and selling merchandise. This brought into question ethical practices. The power of persuasion seemed to be into play as people somehow thought he was famous and lined up to greet him. Nick worked hard to pitch the Kwame Jackson persona. In the end both teams made more money for Planet Hollywood than what came in the previous year. The women came in with a 31.3% increase while the men only came in with a 6.8% increase. Kwame was the chosen project manager ended up in the board room along with Nick and Bowie. In the end Trump went with his gut feeling and let Bowie go, a very tough decision. Now the teams will be integrated for their next event, creating all new challenges as the sexes combine to battle it out.
