The Apprentice - Episode 10

Episode 10             |The Apprentice| (Back to main page)

Entrepreneur Fired = Heidi
Reason: Had yet to impress Trump with any real leadership skills.

Task:
Both teams were to manage transportation for a pedicab company. The team with the most money at the end of the shift won.

Valuable insight gained from this episode:
"Business is business, it's never personal"

Versacorp had a great idea of selling advertising on the back of their pedicabs. Team Versacorp had yet another good idea of networking with past clients and soliciting them for advertising dollars. Their idea was aggressive, made sense, and definitely made money. On the other hand both teams learned that it is a good idea to leave specialized tasks to the professionals. Both teams attempted to get in pedicabs and work the streets and both teams did poorly in doing so. Team Protégé attempted to create incentive programs for their Pedicab drivers but ended up eating into their profits without really getting them ahead. In the end it came down to the team with the creative business idea and the wherewithal to execute that plan.

Business Ethics:
Team Versacorp had a problem with one of their Pedicabs where the advertising they had placed fell off for part of the day. Nick decided that integrity was crucial with the client and refunded the client all of the money. This was a good decision and goes a long ways in the business world.
